Musings from the Void - Weekly Update 20/02/2010

Heavy Rain - the first of episodic content due to be released for Heavy Rain has been delayed. The content is now expected to land March 4th, which will be free for those who pre-order the game. In addition it has been confirmed that one episode of the DLC will put players in the body of the Origami Killer himself - nice.

Sony's 'Arc' - TheSixthAxis is reporting rumours that Sony's motion controller (codenamed Arc) will be getting a Wii-style "nunchuck". Although only rumour, it makes sense in order to allow for complex game controls such as for First Person Shooters. This rumour comes following news that E3 will see motion controlled games for the Xbox and PS3 from games developer THQ.

Final Fantasy XIII - It has been revealed that the 360 version of FFXIII does not run in HD resolution, but rather 576p. Clearly due to compression issues and lack of blu-ray, the 360 version looks significantly worse than its PS3 equivalent. Check the screenshot comparison below.

Modern Warfare 2 - despite several attempts at patching the game by Infinity Ward, it appears MW2 is still glitched beyond belief. GamerSyndrome kindly have created a list of all possible exploits now prevalent in the game and if you needed proof of who bad things can get check out the video below!

List Of Mods:
1. God Mode (Don’t Die)
2. Wall Hack (See People Through Walls)
3. Jump Height (Jump Higher)
4. Default Weapon (New Weapon)
5. Gold Desert Eagle (COD4 Gold Desert Eagle)
6. No Recoil (Gun Does Not Have Any Kickback)
7. Unlimited Ammo (Never Run Out Of Ammo)
8. Spawn With AC-130
9. Every Perk (All Perks)
10. Other People Have NO PERKS
11. Other People Can Not Jump
12. Text On Screen (Messages At Beginning)

God of War 3 - The first review for the worlds most troubled demi-god has been released by Official PlayStation magazine. The game is rewarded an impressive 9/10, saying "GoW 1 and 2 appear small in comparison" and "the game was only inches away from a 10, but was let down by its familiarity". Sounds like another essential purchase!

Game Room - Game Room for the Xbox 360 goes live March 24th. The virtual world allows players to create a custom arcade which can then be admired by their friends avatars. Game Room will launch with an impressive 31 new tittles which can be played both via Xbox Live or PC.

Perfect Dark - The legendary N64 tittle currently under development for Xbox Live will be released on March 17th and cost a reasonable 800 Microsoft Points. The game, developed by Rare, will also feature some multiplayer maps from the N64 game GoldenEye - score!

and finally.....

Despite being a longtime owner of Microsoft's Xbox/Xbox 360 console, last week I purchased a PS3. Owning both consoles has given me a good perspective on the advantages/disadvantages of each so next weeks Musings will include my impressions of the PS3 compared to the 360. If nothing else it should provoke a good amount of PS3/360 fan boy argument so be sure to check it out!
