Musings from the Void - Weekly Update 05/02/2010

Sonic - Early this week saw the announcement of Sonic 4 for the PS3, Xbox and Wii. Originally under the name of 'Project Needlemouse' the game will see Sonic return to his original 2D routes with a 3D make-over (similar to recent Mario Brothers titles). What is surprising is that rather than a single retail release, Sonic 4 appears to be several episodic titles to download.

Fallout Vegas - The first video for the sequel to my game of 2009 has been released. Despite not showing any in game footage, it does show a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas and sets the mood for what to expect. Check it out below:

BioShock 2 - IGN and Official Xbox magazine have both posted reviews for the aquatic adventure BioShock 2. IGN awarded a respectable 90% score, and Official Xbox magazine 95%. Both reviews describe how the game has not revolutionised the franchised, but rather developed on what made the original so great. So whilst nothing that new, BioShock 2 is still looking like an essential purchase.

Xbox Live - With effect from April 15th, Microsoft is pulling the plug on the original Xbox consoles Live service. After it's launch in 2002, Xbox Live has seen over 20 million users and has been the flagship for Microsoft's entry into the gaming market.

Perfect Dark - The original N64 game Perfect Dark is currently under development to be re-released on Xbox Live. According to Microsoft on Twitter the game will be playable at Microsoft's X10 event next week. The game itself features remastered visuals and runs at 60fps. No definitive release date or pricing information has been provided but if rumours are to be believed the game could be available as early as this month.

and finally.....

God of War - The packaging of God of War III: Ultimate Trilogy has been released. Despite containing GoW 3, GoW Collection and other goodies it will still set consumers back a respectable £110. For more details on what is included in the box check out here.
