Musings from the Void - Weekly Update 04/03/2010

Crysis 2
- The original game reduced many PC's to a quivering wreck with its intense visuals and specifications, and now the follow-up tittle is heading to both the Xbox and PlayStation. The first few screens have been released and it looks very impressive indeed! The sequel is set in New York, dropping the original games jungle environments.

Blur - If reports are to be believed, MTV are claiming that the game created by Project Gotham Racing veterans will allow for Xbox Live Silver subscription online play. If true, this is the first Xbox 360 game to allow people who do not subscribe to the online service to play against other gamers. The game blends the experience of an arcade racer with advanced weaponry. It will utilise social networking sites such as Twitter as an integral part of the experience.

Halo Reach - The first multiplayer video for Halo Reach has been released. The video shows a wealth of new features, weapons and gameplay... oh and Jet Packs! Check out the video below:

God of War - TheSixthAxis have posted a link to an IGN screen grab that shows God of War III receiving a "perfect 10" score. Whilst this could quite easily be fake, if any game is likely to hit those heights this is the one. Check it out here.

Sony - According to VG247 and the Wall Street Journal, Sony are developing a new device that combines PlayStation game support with a net book. Clearly in anticipation of the iPad, this could provide serious competition to Apple especially if it includes decent handheld gaming and access to the PlayStation Network Store.

Portal - Valve's incredible first-person, mind-bending, portal-opening classic has received a new ending! Rumoured to be linked to a forthcoming announcement of Portal 2, the extended footage sees the main character being dragged away by a mechanical character.

and finally.....

Modnation Racers - A new trailer for Sony's Modnation Racers has been released. The game, part of PlayStation's Play, Create, Share genre, allows users to create everything from the vehicles driven in to the tracks driven on. Think LittleBigPlanet on 4 wheels! View it below:
